Saying chit chit all afternoon. Finally found an M93B stock and it came today. The seller had stated it was "new and complete" so stupid me 'assumed' that that included a buffer and spring as well!!! I KNOW I KNOW.

So I am guessing I need the carbine buffer but is spring different also? Only ever owned 1 preban collapsable stock rifle ever and not up on differences other than I know buffer itself is shorter. I have another new flat wire spring. Sure as hell won't find a carbine buffer and spring in these parts so wanting opinions/expert advice before I order something and wait another week before I can test things. Oh well, maybe the damn winter will be over by then!!!

Edit to add....This is for an AR-15 setup.

Guess I am getting old and stupid, thought I had another flat wire buffer spring but 'apparently' I let it go with the last AR I sold 3-4 months ago. What was I lookin for again.......???????

Thanks in advance for any help and/or suggestions.

Resepctfully,
Dennis

Re: ANOTHTER buffer questions-need info

rifle tube, rifle buffer and spring. carbine tube, carbine buffer and spring. i have a flat wire in my 308 gasser. not sure what you do to them in an ar15. i have heard they need trimmed possibly, but i cant say.

hell the springs may be the same too with just the weight of the buffer being different but when you order, tell them carbine or look in the for sale area here. go back a few pages or use the search.

Re: ANOTHTER buffer questions-need info

Do you need this for a 308Ar or an AR15(5.56?)? It'll make a difference!

Re: ANOTHTER buffer questions-need info

If its going on an AR-15/5.56 carbine...then you need any standard AR-15 carbine buffer spring and the AR-15 carbine buffer of your chosing (standard, H2, H3, Spike's ST-T2, etc., etc.).

If it is going on a .308/7.62 AR...then you will need to get with Clint Butler (aka - Slash) for a specific "shortened" .308 carbine buffer and modified/cut-down AR-10/LR-308 buffer spring that is specifically designed to work in the shorter, AR-15 carbine buffer tube. See here for more info:

Also...be sure to post some pics when you get this all put together. Nothing like a little "vintage" Magpul porn for the masses!!!
