Well I just completed another JP build. For this one I used a 20" CTR-02 upper.

Here is the shopping list:

JP 20" CTR-02 billet upper assy. w/low mass op. system and heatsink
C3 billet lower
Timney 3 lb. trigger
Magpul stock
Ergo grip
JP scope base/rings
Weaver 4-20 Tactical scope

Soon as the weather clears up I will get out and see how it shoots. Will be loading some 69gr SMK's and plan on shooting this rig in some F-class matches maybe and some yote bust'in. If it shoots as good as my other two JP's I will be happy.

Yeah, bummer. We are not allowed suppressors here. How barbaric! Next door in Wisconsin you can have a suppressor, but concealed carry is a no no. Weird.

To answer the question on the JP heatsinks. Not only do they look cool (God I love anodized aluminum) but the do work rather well. At last year's RM3G on stage one you had about I was about 70 rds into a 2 minute stage and still got my hit on a 600 yard bonus target. The gun was plenty hot but there was no variation in my zero. Also about 50 of those rounds were shot at targets varying between 325 and 375. No problems getting hits there either.

Jp makes good stuff. Here is mine. Has the lo mass carrier, upgraded bolt, reduced weight buffer and heat sink. You tune the gas block real low and the rifle hardly moves when fired and is still super reliable. Whats not to like.

Looks like their Vtac modular handguard. A little heavy but lots of choices for how you want to set it up.

4" rail @ 1 o'clock for short range irons and stud for Harris. Since pics, I added the other stud to the 9 o'clock for sling attachment.
