They won't pay you well enough to raise a child. They won't work your schedule around your daycare. They do not want to pay maternity leave. They fight tooth and nail to keep from providing adequate medical or dental insurance. They won't give you a pension or retirement benefits.


But, they will pay you to abort your child. Got it.

I haven’t spent a dime in Dicks for about a decade now and see no reason to now. Companies don’t care about morals or right vs wrong. All they care about is making money and rather than support the women who get pregnant they would rather pay for them to kill a child vs taking time off of work or potentially losing said employee. Here is a list of companies doing the same thing. I would guess there are even more bit this is a list a buddy sent me.

Im always amazed that the local Dicks has managed to remain in business. I dont think I have ever seen more than 5 or 6 cars in their parking lot

no its not.

"paying" maternity leave is nothing more than paying a premium for short term disability for the employees. Dicks is an hourly store (possibly outside of their management and upper management), id imagine most have to elect to have short term disability deducted from their paycheck. ON TOP OF THAT, when they go on short term disability, they have to pay the full amount for their health insurance (which the company probably subsidizes every month or pays outright), so the company saves money there too.

No.... no... this is not a money saving decision.

To think about this really irks me, so I'll try not to let it consume me. But 10 years ago I royally messed up my neck again (well, a chiroquacker did), so I decided to fly to a specialist in TX who'd I'd seen before about lower back (which sadly I messed up somehow 3 days ago bending over to tie my shoe!!!). I told my boss I was going to the doctor, but out of state. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU ARE NOT, NOT ON SICK TIME YOU'RE NOT...THAT WILL BE VACATION TIME.

Needless to say that was close to the last nail in the coffin at that place for me. A few months later same boss didn't have my back in the slightest and I armed the ejection button shortly thereafter. Pushed it about 5 months after that.

And now to think companies are PAYING for travel and for an abortion. What the everloving F????????????
