Any loads for a 6.5x47 Lap with Re-17 and 130's?

Hello guys,

I tried a search but came up with zip. I normally shoot 123's with Re-15 and got some JLK 130 vld's and am wanting to try the RE-17 and was curious as to what some of you guys might be using for loads.

Not a 6.5x47 but I have tested RL 17 VERY extensively in a 260, bullets 123-140 and have had zero luck. Poor accuracy and very poor ES and SD's, I threw in the towel. Now with my 308 and heavies for me the exact opposite it's been a fine consistant powder despite other's experience.

I just shot a few loads a couple weeks back with Lapua 123's.

RL 17 top load of 41.6gr 3104fps
41.3gr 3061fps
41gr 3042fps

41 grain load shot the tightest but barely sub moa. 41.6gr load opened group up to 1" and a bit more on a couple. No consistent shots, kinda ugly with no shots touching or 2 at most.

SD's were in the teens. CCI 450 and .010" off lands. 28" Oby with 9.1tw. Neck tension @ .002.

Had real good groups with 41.6gr of H4350 but velocity was 2950ish and single SDs. RL 15 @ 38gr gave 3015fps with SD of 4 for a 10 shot string. All same as above otherwise. RL 17 worked great in my 6x47L but not looking good accuracy wise for the 6.5 however velocity is waaayyyyy superior to H4350.

well, so far it seem RE-17 isnt the most accurate powder.

I guess ill stick with RE-15 and varget. I was just curious if anyone had any luck with that powder.\

Im doing pretty good with RL17 and 140 VLDs' out of a 6.5x47 Lapua Imp.

I think im going to at least tyr thr powder and just see what happens. if it doesnt shoot good Ill just switch back to varget or re-15.
