Seems like a good value at a dealer advertised cost of around $875. Anyone have one? I'm looking for an economical can for a TRG 42 and the fact the YHM offers a metric thread pitch mount for the Sako makes it look very attractive.

Personally, if I put the cash in on a TRG 42 and was going to buy a can I'd get a TBAC 338ba.

I read your thread because I wanted to see what weapon platform you were using. I could understand if you wanted to put a YHM on a Savage or Barret...

Just my .02.

If you want grouping pics Ive shot with my TRG42 and TBAC, PM me.

If you don't mind the weight its not a bad can. I owned both the Phantom 338 and 338ba from TBAC, sound the same. No good comparison on accuracy, but didn't notice any degradation from the yhm.

I agree with above, if you can swing the extra grand get the TBAC, but I also understand that sometimes that's just not feasible, in that case you will be plenty happy with the sound suppression abilities of the yhm.

I have a TRG 42 338 and the YHM 338 brake mount can. Fit and finish are good. Sound reduction is surprisingly good. Overall weight makes gun almost neutral balance on bipod, with just a few ounces heavy on the stock end. I will buy a lighter can in the future. I can mostly shoot the combo 1.2MOA or a tad more, out to about 1200. I am no expert shot for sure, but I wonder how much better it would shoot (or I could shoot it) with another can (TBAC or any other with appropriate weight for the light gun) that allows different balance.

I have shot both the Sierra and Sierra SD from Elite Iron on the gun, too. Neither is any heavier than the YHM unit. Sound reduction was better with both, as was recoil reduction. Of course, without a meter, I have nothing objective to report; I don't know if the difference is dB, tone or otherwise.

Best 5 shot group thus far with my TRG-42 and TBAC 338ba
You know where the extra money goes when you shoot it.
