anybody own or have opinions on Steyr SSG-8 338LM?

have a Remington 700 338LM that shoots great. No problem there. But I like the idea of moving to a 1:9 twist and longer barrel since I want to exclusively handload for 300 and stop building 250s.

I haven't found any substantive reviews via google... so wondering what you all have thought or heard about this Lapua platform.

Hello,

I've never shoot a ssg08,only seen it in a gunsmith shop but i used to shoot a ssg04 and don't know why the ssg 08 is twice the price of a ssg04.The ssg 04 i shot was a 300 wm,very accurate but i paid it about 2500 euros..if i had to buy a 338 lm for more of 5000 euros,i will take a look at AW 338 or DTA srs .these rifle are quite the same price but in my opinion,a best deal for your money!

I've got one, really nice rifle. Well worth the money to me.
I have an SSG08 .308 too, so I knew I liked the platform.

Not many of them in the US.

My experience with the Steyr SBS line has been spectacular.
