Rifle Scopes Anybody receive one of the Gen 4 Wotac scopes yet?

Re: Anybody receive one of the Gen 4 Wotac scopes yet?

Mine arrived a week and a half ago. Optical quality is pretty good, clicks are crisp, and it flew through an optical box test just fine until a. I bumped the rifle and whacked the windage point, and b. I removed the first indexing mark by pulling off the masking tape that was holding one of the tape measures on the target.

Been busy, so I was doing this to the back yard under a flood light, with an assistant to mark on the target where the reticle was after 10- and 15-MOA adjustments. Light just wasn't good enough to resolve below the one-inch marks on the measuring tapes.

There's a REASON why the index marks on windage max out at "6" in the left direction before the knob bottoms out. Those extra clicks take the erector tube far enough over to block the parallax focus lens.

The index marks under the elevation knob are also labeled with the "6" closest to the tube, and "0" as the last to be exposed as you crank up on the elevation. Think of it as turns LEFT to go, and you'll see the rationale there.

Like many scopes (including the Vortex Viper I was using for some ammo testing about two months ago), there are phantom clicks with no elevation change at the top. I saw an honest 90 MOA of elevation before the clicks stopped moving the reticle. Pay attention to those index marks and you'll know when you're just spinning.

Will post more when I get rounds downrange under the scope.
