Looking at my options for a trigger on a lawton 7000 action. I noticed that triggers are avalible w/o a safety provision. Any of you guys shoot tactical rifles w/o safetys?

I figure the bolt is pulled out of the rifle before you get out of position and move and I never chamber a round unless I'm ready to shoot. What are your thoughts? How would you feel if a guy on your "squad" had a rifle w/ no safety.

I have Lawton 8500/Manners T2. It isn't cut for a safety so I will have to get the jewell trigger with the bottom safety. It sucks not having a safety. And yes, my brain is the ultimate safety, but it still sucks not having a mechanical saftety on the rifle. It's being rebarrelled at the current time so I have a little time to get one.

When I went through SOTIC everyone took one of those "foamy" earplugs and stuffed it behind the safety so it couldn't go on. We then carried the rifle with the mag full, closed on an empty chamber. When we wanted to shoot we loaded a round. Not saying it's the right or wrong way, just what we did.

I DO NOT have a safety on my MAK and I have never had any problem. Yes if you have the cash go with the Jewell, that was what I had planned to do but I have never got around to it. I just do not move with a round in the chamber, don't load untill you are ready to fire and lift the bolt handle if you need to look away fro any reason.
