Anybody SBR a GSG-5 or similar?

I have one that I recently acquired, and playing around with the idea of having the barrel cut down and threaded for a suppressor. I've never done this before, but have an idea of the process from looking around on here and on the ATF website. Has anybody done this to a GSG-5? Would you consider it "worth it", or is that too much money to invest in a rimfire that is only for plinking fun? Never had a suppressor either, so looking forward to that as well.

For about $750, I think Gemtec offers an integrally suppressed barrel, so it's a one stamp deal.

That said, I would have a lot of angst about dropping that sort of coin for a dedicated part for a gun of the GSG's construction and quality (a zinc clamshell held together with machine screws), so the SBR + can makes more sense, despite two stamps.

You ought to give serious thought to SBRing an AR lower so you can put a 5" or other short .22 upper on to run with a suppressor.
Having played a little with a suppressed registered 7" M-16 .22, I can say it's a hoot.

Even on my 16" Spike's and M1S the extra 8oz/6" Spectre doesn't seem unwieldy, though for comparison I have a 12# 18" SPR.

I think you can probably get a short CMMG upper under $400; they've just added a shorty.
