Usual story.. Overheard a conversation in the local gunsho...

about a fellow Reloader who inserts a small tube up the middle of his brass cases, the tiny tube has holes in it, so the primer flash goes up the tube and ignites the powder through the holes, all the way up the centre of the case.

Apparently he drills out the flasholes, and threads them, so he can screw in this tiny tube before seating the primer.
REALLY??????!!!!!!!

he got the idea from large artillery shells that have this method???

I have NEVER heard anything like this before..
I believe he said he does it on 6.5x284.

I was chuckling to myself and kept quiet.. But curious if there was any merit to this claim?
I thought my reloading methods were verging on anal at times, but WTF??

Re: Anyone else ever heard of this??

with such small powder quantities i wonder what the benefits are, I can see it in artillery shells with maasive amount of propellant but for rifles?? waste of his time so i do not really care.
