Thinking of having my new LRP coated by Joint Force Enterprises. My concern is that I know JP uses some form of thermal process when installing thier barrels.

Has anyone had thier Jp disassembled and re assembled for coating? Any issues after the fact?

Lots of folks use different shit when installing barrels. I don't use anything but a thin coat of TW-25B. Some use Loctite, grease, oil, and I think the military manual calls for anti seize or lithium grease, I forget.

"Thermal process" with the above in mind makes me think of Rocksett. You better hope to hell it isn't Rocksett. I just had to CUT OFF a damn gas block that was installed with it. That set screw just wasn't coming out, at all, and I'd already broken off a tool steel hex wrench flush inside the screw. Red Loctite isn't as permanent as this shit is.

I'd just call 'em to be certain. If they use Rocksett, ask 'em how the hell they get it off.

Just talked with Ben, awesome folks at JP.

Anywho he confirmed the thermal fit the barrels to the reciever. its a process they use to deliever consistency through the barrel warm up and cool down during the firing process. It is not recommended to remove and replace the barrel on a jp unless actually rebarreling.
