Looking at a new scope that has this particular reticle. It has MOA adjustments, are the dots X amount of MOA apart? I can't find any info on Schmidt and Benders page, just wondering if someone here knows about these.
Re: Anyone ever used Schmidt and Benders 8 Dot Reticle
I have some 4-16 MOA varmint S&B scopes. Marked Long Range on the side focus. Have some dots. I did not get excited about the distance between them, I just shot and found where they are on. example, First dot is on at top edge at 100, 2end is on at 380, third is on at 510 etc. They do not have exposed turrents, so it is all holding. Great scopes for coyote hunting.
Re: Anyone ever used Schmidt and Benders 8 Dot Reticle
It says it has .280" MOA precision adjustments. If I knew how far apart the dots were in MOA then I could dial in my shots. I just can't find any where that says how far apart they are.
Re: Anyone ever used Schmidt and Benders 8 Dot Reticle
In fact heres the longest and most informative thing I can find.
The #8 Varmint Dot reticle offers long range varmint hunters an unobstructed view and the ability to compensate for bullet drop, or deflection from wind. The addition of dots spaced along the cross hairs help the shooter to gain accurate target acquisition. Four short tapered posts point your eye toward your point of aim, quickly and efficiently without blocking your line of sight.
First focal plane positioning of the reticle ensures consistent shot placement and accurate ranging calculations across the entire zoom range.
"dots spaced along the cross hairs" don't tell me much.
