was wandering if anyone had one or has used one. I have a surgeon action, and a rock barrel. ran into an issue with them. The rock barrel seemed very soft even when cutting but cleaned up well. there where no burs, or debris on the action or barrel, and even with oil on the threads it still locked up. first time i have had this happen. I hade to cut the barrel froward of the action. Set it up in the mill and was able to hit it really close to the threads. still has some metal int the threads. Was wandering if they are worth it to buy, if they would work. i would want it because of the mandrel to keep it true on the threads.

Any thoughts?

I've done that twice with BAT's. Kinda makes you weak in the knees. Use Jet Lube 550 as a thread lube. Send the action back to Surgeon and let them straighten out the threads. Better safe than sorry.

Yes it does. lol i have done 3 rifles now with rock barrrels. accuracy was very good with them, but only one seemed to cut very neatly. The other two seemed very soft. ??

Any way. i called surgen and they can do it. 2-3 months. Being the inpatient person i am, im thinking i can machine a block of aluminum for it and use the mill, or if it fits in the athe use a boring bar ?
