Gents,

I currently have a NH 2.5-10X32 mil/mil zerostop on my 16" JP LRP-07. I purchased a vx6 1-6 firedot for my JP SCR and love it. I am thinking about swapping out the NF for the 2-12 vx6 with the LR duplex firedot. Primary use for the rifle is punching paper out to 300, and hunting in the Maine woods, is a general utility rifle.

I'm thinking the LR duplex will be fine with its quasi mildot thing going on, and I'd enjoy the extra 2 power. My other thinking is to have the same controls and adjustments on both rifles as they function the same in every other function.

Thoughts?

Interesting. Be honest is that because you are a nightforce fanboy ? What exactly didn't you like
Every review I have read for the scope says that its beats our some of the higher end swarovskis.

I'm not a NF fanboy I don't even own one anymore

The glass is good on them I would say as good as NF or perhaps 'better' in some ways however I did notice some chromatic aberration that I don't notice with Zeiss Diavari, Swaro Z6, the scopes the leupie fanboys say it blows out of the water lol. I also noticed a bit of this on the Mark 6 leupold I looked at maybe same coatings for both? The 2-12 mag range is neat but without a parallax knob I am forever fiddling with the eyepiece to get it where I like it and I don't like the leupold holdover reticules that much. The Custom Dial feature is neat for a hunting scope I'd probably just go duplex and then have a laser rangefinder. The leupold is really light but the NF you have isn't heavy either.

Your mileage may vary but that is what I noticed.

By my estimation you lose out more than you gain by swapping from one to the other. Also for target shooting with no parallax and a thick reticule vs. the finer reticule and better adjustments the NF has ?

I would rather have one of the VX-R models with the CDS for half the price or maybe another 1-6? I did like the 1-6 leupold a lot just needs a good reticule (all I saw was duplex). The VXR are eheap enough that you could get one with some QD rings, zero it with whatever your hunting load is and then swap them back and forth.

Thanks for the review!!! The high end without parralex is what I was a looking for. I was curious if the eye piece would be enough to clear it up. Another of those examples where I wish I could see one in person.

Like I said my big reason for thinking about switching was to keep the adjustments the same with both rifles.I may just stick with the NF.
