I have had a Gracey neck shaver for about a decade setup for 308/30-06 just for cleaning up military brass for M-14/M1s. I have never had to do a caliber conversion on it. Just got the parts from Gracey to convert it over to 6.5CM.
The problem is as I screw in the shell holder in to adjust how far down the neck it shaves, it hits part of the cutter and locks up the motor before its screwed in far enough to shave to the bottom of the neck and get to the top of the case shoulder. I have been trying unsuccessfully to call Matchprep today to troubleshoot. I had today set aside to make ammo, so hoping someone here can help.
Have a pile of virgin Lapua brass I am looking to skim cut and even up just taking .001" or less off.......
Also, if I have evened the necks out running them up a 21st Century expander mandrel die to get ready to neck turn, do I need to size them again before loading them up? I made a couple dummy rounds and there is still neck tension but they are definitely a bit more open then the way they came ready to load from Lapua. No setback of the bullet though feeding them from the mag.
