Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

ASM,

At the risk of exposing my ignorance.... Do you have MOA dope for a 300yd zero? I've got an MK12 from HCS with an 18in 1:7 BBL. Just got a healthy supply of MK262 for it. Here's the ignorance part. Can 300yd dope be derived from the 100yd zero dope? THX CJ

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

ASM1, that tracks very closely to my pet load for my 77SMK's at 2750fps...24.1 Grains of AA 2460 out of a 18" Bartlein barrel.

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

unfortunately I dont know muzzle vel. Its coming out of a 18" Noveske w/ an IOR 2.5-10. Think the obj is 42 or 46??

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

Thanks ASM1. Can you translate YMMV and WOA? The NXS 2.5-10x24 on the MK12 is 2.5ins above the bore. It gun doesn't miss at 300 with 77gr ammo. Want to stretch it out when I get home. CJ

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

YMMV = Your Milage May Vary
WOA = WHITE OAK ARMAMENT

You should be Good to go with what you have with the dope I gave you...<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: CrazyJoe</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Thanks ASM1. You mean the stuff in the BH white box correct? The Mk262 "cosmetic 2nds".

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

Ok got it.

Yea the Mod 1 is the cannelure.

I had to make sure because some think that "Commercial" Mk262 is the red box. Aint that a good one! HAHA

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

ASM's numbers are in the ballpark of what Im using. My mil holds are 1 at 300, 2.1 at 400, and 3.3 at 500 which track fairly close so Im going to try his numbers out at some real distances and see how they match up. Again, thanks for the help.

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

Yeah I can do it in the A.M.,Ive been up for a couple days installing DYNATRAC Dana 60's with Full Hydro in a Jeep JK,NEED SLEEP AT THE MOMENT..

You want the Mil/DOPE for 2750 or 2800 or Both ?

Re: anyone have MK262 (77 SMK) drop table

MOA/3.438 gives you Mil from MOA
MIL/.2908 gives you MOA from MIL

I know this is an old thread but the info is good. The Black Hills commercial Mk 262 has been available for a while now so I'm hoping to extend this conversation because a lot of you may have familiarity with it now. I finally have a new range where we can shoot to 500 yards. All shooters have to "qualify" at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, to show competence and the ability to hit targets without putting rounds over the berm.

I just built an 18" Mk 12ish upper to shoot the BH Mk 262 on this range. Since I have to "qualify" first, I can't work up dope for my rifle; catch 22 so to speak. I plan on using ASM's dope chart to get going. I will chrono when I can. Have any of you taken ASM's work and applied it to the BH Mk 262 out of an 18" barrel with good results? Thanks ASM for sharing the dope.

I see a lot of Mk.262 77gr throughout the year from 18" guns in my DM Courses. I wouldn't even think about using someone's trajectory data.

It's going to be different for each blaster, and the environmentals. A lot of my courses are at 6600ft elevation, with temps across the thermometer. Others are at sea level with similar temp ranges going down to -27 Celsius.

You need to chrono your rifle with 10 shots and get an average, then plug that into a decent ballistics program. There are free programs available for your smart phone or PDA, so there really isn't a reason not to have immediate access to your own data for the conditions you are in.
