I have a Remington 550 that will not feed, I replaced the magazine tube spring, the lifter tension spring, the lifter, cleaned and polished everything, and still have the same problem, here are some pics of where it is hanging up...any ideas?
Diagnosing the problem even from a pic like this is like calling the Dr and telling him you have a headache, cough, and stomach ache- What's wrong?
It looks like the shell lifter is up prior to the round being on top of it, so something in the timing/feeding of the shell is off. This is however based on some past experience, and viewing a pic.
what it looks like to me is what you said the lifter is not allowing the round to come back under it to lift it up.....so what makes the lifter go "down" enough to let the round come over it?
the spring keeps it "up" to lift the round.
I have a reprint owner's manual if you'd like it. It gives a cut away side view of the parts bolt forward and bolt back. I'm wondering about the shell stop. PM me if you want it.
