This is an AWSM 338 LM. Anyone know what muzzle brakes these are? Just curious because I want to put a bigger muzzle break on my AI 338lm barrell threaded M18x1.5. Any other options out there for these threads that are clamp on like the AI brake? Thanks in advance.

Looks like the links you provided may not be the same. Notice how the clamp bolt in my picture is further forward. Also the brake covers the “shelf” on the end of the AI barrel. Unless the AWSM doesn’t have the shelf?

I actually have a 2013 model AX and was thinking of trying a different Brake. It works great but I haven’t compared it to anything but my buddies Cadex patriot 338. His rifle has hardly any recoil but the brake is massive.

what is your opinion on the AI factory brake?

It does. All factory barrels generally have that OD reduction. That "relief" is where the factory brake clamps onto.

I like the newer AI factory brakes. I shot them a few times while waiting on TBAC brakes and it wasn't bad. Short of a clamshell "tank brake" I'd say they are pretty good.

My personal alternatives would be:

Fat Bastard Gen 2: https://www.americanprecisionarms.c...oducts/gen2-fat-bastard?variant=2081888337930

OR

Grizzly: https://shop.grizzlygunworks.com/Grizzly-Muzzle-Brake-For-Rifles-GRIZZLYRIFLEMUZZLEBRAKE.htm

Both exceptional brakes. Just rattle-can or [insert favorite gun coating here] over the barrel clamp area if you don't like it all raw and shiny.

Those emergency 2 round holders resemble something that would come from the steampunk world.
