I just ordered a Seekins Havak in 6.5 CM and it should be coming in within the next 3-4 months. I'm trying to get some good data on where to start in terms of OAL, powder choices, etc. I will likely use the Hornady ELDX and ELDM bullets as I have heard good things about them in this rifle, but I would certainly love to get all the info I can even with other bullets.

This will also be my first time loading for 6.5 CM and I still need to buy the components to do so including competition dies, brass, bullets, powder, etc. I've heard 4350 is one of the more accurate, but have no experience loading with it as its burn rate isn't comparable to .308 which I have significant experience with.

Any and all help from that aspect would also be appreciated. Also if anyone has any components they would like to get rid of cheap to help the cause I wouldn't turn them down either. Especially leftover boxes of factory ammo in which I can start shooting the rifle with to get initial impressions and collect data from my labradar!

Thanks in advance,

M. Wright

Thanks for the book data, I have Hornady's newest manual and have measured for Cartridge Base to Ogive, COAL, and measured shoulder bump from fired factory rounds. Just trying to see what people with Havak's are getting good results with. I only have H4350 at the moment and only 2lbs so I'm trying to start from a known accuracy node.

Let your rifle tell you that. I will say Hodgdon is fairly conservative with their published data, but start low and work your way up. H4350 is becoming readily available in my area so be on the lookout for more.
