I had a case of this stuff in the mid 80s and it was awesome for the money. It came in regular spray cans. As long as parts were squeeky clean and you baked it in a regular oven, it gave a nice Dark Grey finish that looked like it was parkerized at a distance. It was Very durable and chemical resistant. Are there any products like it out there currently? Thanks!

If you are going through all that process of prep, might as well use Cerakote. Stuff is amazing.

I believe you regarding the Cerakote, I believe I've heard that it is identical chemically to a Sherwin-Williams product called "Polane". My issue was that for finishing a few small parts at a time, something that comes in a relatively inexpensive "Rattle Can" that a talented 12 year old could apply successfully seemed to make more sense.

Polane T, if I am not mistaken, is actually rebadged and sold as Duracoat (and doesn't require baking).
