I have a pair of Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Rifles, one set up for long range and one for close.. They are very similar to a M4 carbine. Great for practice and a lot cheaper to shoot than 5.56. Is anyone else shooting these?

I just bought a MOE version yesterday after reading dozens of positive reviews. Still shopping hard for some kind of optic for it so mine as of right now is unfired. Soon as the glass goes on I will remedy that quickly.

We threaded SOOOOO many of these barrels when they first came out. Its a neat looking rifle, but I just don't know about all that plastic.
We're getting ready to start doing a lot more shooting (been too long since we had the time) and looking at both bolt gun trainers and carbine trainers. But I think we're leaning more towards running 22 conversions in our rifles (AR) as opposed to getting a dedicated 22 semi.

I ran one for a long time.
However, It blew out its extractor while shooting suppressed, and I've been far to busy to contact S&W for a replacement. We'll see how that goes, and I'm sure I'll post a thread so yall can see S&W's customer service at work.

Yes. I'm rockin an M&P 15-22 MOE and I love this thing. I've been very happy with these plastic MBUS flip up sights, and when the Eotech isn't the MOE's big sister, my M4, it is a blast to use on the MOE.
These 22s are so affordable and so much fun to use, also considerable muscle memory value thats transferable to your M4 if thats how you train.

On my longer range one i have a 3-9x40 scope and on the short range I have magpul flip up sights.. I'm thinking about putting a burris fastfire on it. I have that same red dot on my m4 and it holds zero very well and is very visible.

By far the best value. Own and use two of them pretty hard without issue.
I also have a few Tactical Solutions AR .22 uppers as well and have to say that the S&W MAP 15-22 runs just as good as those units which cost a lot more.
THE BOLT HOLD/LOCK BACK FEATURE IS THE SHIT and makes this the clear winner for a 22cal trainer.
I have found mine runs best with the Federal Bulk Pack copper ammo.
FWIW the barrels can be easily removed for threading or SBR.
