use a mosin or know of a mosin being used as the basis for a 7.62 54 sniper rifle in the modern world--has anyone tried to optimized a mosin nagant stock/trigger, etc etc as a thousand yard gun? if so, would be interested to hear detail--parts, scopes, etc--

know this is an odd topic in a world of guns that cost thousands of dollars, but would like to get all i can out of one of these old war horses--

thanks in advance, mauserdoc

Re: anyone

Don't know of anybody, but a friend has one and it sure is a hoot to shoot. Cheap to shoot too. I have contemplated buying one of these. Somewhere I saw a Monte Carlo style stock for that type of rifle. I have not seen any other aftermarket stocks, but i haven't really looked. I shoulda bought one for $100 when i had the chance! Who knows what those guns have been through.
