AP Question?

Saw these on gunbroker and am not sure if they are real AP or not. Looks like they are 7.62 x 39 bullets to me. Anyone know anything about these?

I see a mix of 163gr(30-06),....143 gr (7.62x51).30 cal bullets in that one bag, plus another one I've have to touchy felly to ID. The one cut open IIRC is Russian, all USGI .30 cal I've ever shot have sharp points.

Thanks for the help. Im told the 163 grainers are the ones to get. I may email him asking about weights.

Steel core is not always AP. If you cut open a steel core and use it as a center punch they flatten. I have some that are a Tungsten core that are hard as heck. I can use them on steel plate and make a dent with them using a hammer. I use a .50 at the shop for a center punch.

Thanks for the help guys. Im not in a hurry but Id like to buy some 30 cal AP but I want to make sure I get legit stuff. I emailed him asking if he would weigh some. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Some of the best ever made, the core weights 63grs and will punch a 100# per foot Railroad track (wheel to base) if you have enough speed on her. Won $1,000.00 on a bet, sent her via a duplex loaded 30/378, punched all the way threw.

Anybody got a source on the 163's they would like to share, other than gunbroker? I know they are not cheap, just trying to find some options.

About a dozen years ago i purchased some 30 caliber 162 grain AP from TDI, 810 HENRY STREET, POST FALL, ID phone 208-773-4324.

They worked ok in my CMP Garand but many of the points were damaged.

I got them via usps so and never been to their address.
