Suppressors Apex Tactical Hard Sear for Smith M&P

Re: Apex Tactical Hard Sear for Smith M&P

It's supposed to make the trigger pull lighter, and smoother. They are comming out with a striker, and other stuff to make the pull better (less gritty). I have no issues with the trigger, but a lot of folks hate them. I think the stock trigger is fine after the slack is taken up, and the trgger is "trapped and reset".

Here is a thread on it from the guys making the sear:

Re: Apex Tactical Hard Sear for Smith M&P

I ordered two. Installation is easy, punch out one roll pin, push out the sear retaining pin, swap sears, and put back together.

The trigger pull is enough different that I am kinda scared of it till I get some more time through the gun. The pre-travel has increased a lot, then the sear falls and the trigger reset is only about 1/8th of an inch. The trigger sear fall is light enough that out of 50rnds I have shot I pulled through the sear drop 3 times rather than staging it and pulling the sear only after the takeup.

No problems with it, kind of think I would like something in between factory and what they did. I do not have a trigger scale to measure.

Re: Apex Tactical Hard Sear for Smith M&P

I installed two of them on my M&P's. My trigger pull is around 4.5lbs. The reset is at about an 1/8th of an inch. They have plans to release a duty sear spring which will increase the trigger pull by a pound on their sear. Honestly, its $30, buy it to see if you like it and if not dump it for a little under what you paid for it. I feel that the sear is WELL worth the $30 and would recommend it to anyone. I can't wait for the duty spring and the striker blocks. If you own an M&P keep an eye on these guys!

I have (3) M&P 9 guns, all of them have Apex kits. I'll probably never own a stock M&P, it's just that good.
