AR 10 Mags

Was wondering, can anyone help me with this idea that just pooped into my head?

I recently had an AR 10 (Armalite) stolen and still have several magazines left from it. I have always wanted to get an M14 and supe it up. my question is; Can the Armalite AR 10 20rnd Mags fit in the M14?

Any knowledgeable persons with good answers are greatly appreciated

If the mags are the ban period Generation 1 mags they will fit in a M14. The Gen 1 mags have the original M14 bodies with the plastic follower that has the spring loaded plunger in the back that engages the bolt hold open in the AR10. The Gen 1 mags will fit in the M14, but not lock the bolt open on the last shot. The newer post ban Gen 2 mags will not lock into an M14.
