I know the standard RDIAS needs the M16 trigger assembly... What I don't know if any work on the AR-15 trigger stuff and how you could tell the differnce between the DIAS for the AR ore one for M16

The M16 does not use a DIAS. It does use an auto sear, that is built into the lower receiver. There is a separate pin for it above the selector switch. A (Registered) Drop In Auto Sear ((R)DIAS is a device pictured above that gets dropped into an AR15 to convert it to full-auto like an M16. You need M16 fire control group (trigger, selector, bolt carrier, etc) to make the package work. A lightning link is a different device that is dropped in on a standard semi-auto fire control group that converts it to full auto. As I understand it, you don't need a full-auto selector or hammer, although you do need a full-auto or appropriatly modified BCG to make it work.

I've seen my friends semi M16 and they all have the trigger assembly to use the Dias but never ARs .. My understanding is if your AR has M16 stuff your in deap shit with the ATF

If you wanted a Dias on your AR I geuse you'd have to by M16 stuff also ?

A RDIAS will work in a low shelf AR15 receiver. For it to work, you would need to have an M16 FCG installed. and an M16 BCG. These items are good to go when the RDIAS is installed in the host weapon. I would not have two separate AR15's set up as host weapons with M16 FCG installed at the same time.

Also there is no such thing as a semi auto M16. An actual M16 that is modified to fire semi only, would still have the sear pin hole above the selector switch, and would be a machine gun in and of itself.
