Hi! So, my friend donated a stripped AR-15 lower to me. I'm planning on building a mid-range 5.56mm rifle (not long range).

Is there a similar forum as Sniper's Hide for mid-range AR-15 builds?

There's a wealth of knowledge right here on the Hide. No specific need to check out another forum, unless you just want to try out a new social club.

ar15.com is the "largest" forum, but the level of autistic screeching there is unparalleled. The BrianEnos forums contains (probably) the highest concentration of skilled shooters condensed into one spot (numerous IPSC/USPSA grandmasters, masters, etc) but, being a competition-specific forum, the information there is definitely tailored towards that pursuit. M4carbine.net is another forum, dedicated to, you guessed it, the M4 carbine (and associated derivatives).

Search out build threads by BigJake83 (I think I got that right).

That sumbitch can build em and shoot em. He is not budget friendly though.....? He can be, he just prefers better stuff for his builds.

There are many others who weigh in who know a lot as well. Takes some time and experience to sort the knowledge from the BS.
