I bought a 13.7" carbine lenght gas barrel to cut down for my PDW project. I am wanting a 7.5" barrel, is it going to be possible to cut right on the gas holeand then thread and crown. Keeping the barrel between the 7.25-7.5" length?

Re: AR Barrel Cutting

You may want to get an adjustable gas block first so you can tune the cycling. Someone may correct this but you may have an ejection issue if you simply cut down a gas operated barrel.

Re: AR Barrel Cutting

It shouldn't be a problem, just be sure to cut it so there isn't any of the gas port left. Just so you can get a good crown. Not that accuracy is a major concern in a 7.5" barrel.
