I just got my first ar and I'm looking to cut some new foam for my pelican case. I really liked how starlight cases cut their foam for the ar. It frees up allot more space for another gun or gear.

However Will the upper and lower suffer unnecessary wear by breaking them apart all the time to put them in the case....? I know you have to do this to clean them so probably a dumb question.....

Its a scr-11 if that matters

thanks

They'll be fine, I wouldn't do it with a soft case though. I'm just anal about the bolt carrier group slipping out in a soft bag.

I break my two 18" guns down to fit in a hardcase. It's no big deal.

+1 on the above. Won't hurt anything at all. I routinely break down some of my larger, longer-barreled ARs into some of the shorter Pelican/Storm/Starlight cases for airline transport. No worries.
