I used to work with AR's a few years back but have been on a hot and heavy bolt precision gun kick lately. I Just purchased an Armalite AR10 but dislike the upper. I want to build a .308 upper and a .223 upper as well. One think I like is the quad rail that slides onto the upper receiver. This is purely cosmetic in my taste but i do not know what these rails are called or who makes them. I was hoping someone could point in the direction of a company or a model so I can start looking at ideas.

In short, I want a quad rail for my .308 armalite that is one piece with the upper receiver or slides onto it.

Thanks in advance

Re: AR handguards *New Build*

It sounds like you're describing the ARMS SIR system, which is way old-school nowadays and quite bulky:

The mounting concept lives on with POF and the handguard GA Precision uses for the GAP-10, which is much more streamlined:

You might also consider some of the newer handguards made by Troy, APEX, & PRI.
