This may not work for everyone. It will if you have a LMT MRP upper, or any upper that has built in swivel stud attachment points or "flush cups".
Pictured above is your standard YHM bipod mount adapter. It works well. Serves its purpose. Below is my patent pending, copyrighted, custom, one of a kind, "A-dap-ter". It comes in what ever color grip covers you have.
Your flush cup with a sling swivel attachment is not enough to mount a bi pod. There's not enough material for the tension screw to tighten it down. So it flops around if you try to attach your bi pod that way. I know I tried.. That forces you to purchase some sort of adapter plate to mount on your rifle. But with a precisely measured, custom fitted KAC or similar rail cover acting as a buffer material to fill up the tension in the bi pod attachment screw. Like this pictured below.
You can easily mount your Harris bi pod or similar this way.
It takes up considerably less space. gets the bi pod closer to the bore, and weighs 1/3rd the weight.
I personally have always thought the mounting bracket was a bit chunky
The swivel stud and Custom "A-Dap-Ter" weigh in at a mere 18. grams and the YHM weighs in at a hefty 50+ grams. ( 50 gram max limit on scale )
I hope with this posting I was maybe able to save some one some money. If not to save you money than save you some weight. With most uppers weight is not a problem. But with the LMT, she's a stout girl so any weight lost is good weight. I've had this on my rifle for about 6 months with almost 1000 rounds and no trouble. I will be updating with a new prototype idea that is even cooler.
