Are the Hornady New Dimension dies any good?

For $72, I figured I'd give them a look. I'm looking at their FL die set, but I'm a little unsure about the roll crimp in their seating die. Is there a way to set the die without the crimp? I see they allow you to use a bushing to set your neck tension. Do they accept the Redding or LE Wilson bushings?

Yes, to not crimp you just have to unscrew it (raise it away from the shell holder). The brass going up into the die is what starts the crimp, dont stick the brass in as deep and it will stop before getting crimped. You can make up the distance by lowering the internal bullet seating stem deeper into the die body.

I have 3 sets. Do everything my Redding bushing die set does. I think the seating die is better on the Redding. For 70 bucks the Hornadys match grade bushing dies are hard to beat

@Huskydriver or @spife7980 will Redding bushings work in them or does Hornady have proprietary bushings? I have quite a few Redding bushings on hand and would rather not have to order identical bushings

Im pretty sure redding bushings will work in hornady dies.

I think its just forster that has their own proprietary bushing.

I use both Redding and rcbs bushings. I believe Wilson's work too. Foresters will not as @spife7980 pointed out.
