Area 419 rail on Boyd's Tacticool

Any of y'all run a Area 419 rail on a Boyd's stock?

I have a 10/22 I'd like to put a 8-10" ARCA rail on so I can run my Ckye-pod. I don't know why I'm compelled to do it, but I really want to run my $220 .22 with a $600 bipod.

You think the Boyd's wood might be too soft and it get loose all the time from compressing the wood, or would I be good?

I put a straight edge on the bottom and it looks fairly flat.

Haven’t put one on a Boyd’s, but my CZ 455 Varmint Heavy Barrel has one. Had to add a couple T-nuts, but worked great. I used a Henderson rail to save weight, since that rail will go on hunting rifles too. The CZ forend is definitely NOT perfectly straight, but the rail can flex a bit to match the curve. The Boyd’s wood should be stiffer than my stock, and I’ve had no issues. I did fill the T-nut holes in with JB Weld to try to add back some strength, but that’s probably just a mental security blanket with no real effect on stock strength.

I loved my 455 until the 457 came out. Fixed all my major beefs and added a few cherries on top.

Would highly recommend a 457, you’ll love it too.

I think so long as you have a t nut or washer on the other side it’ll be just fine. Shit, wood screwed in would probably be fine.
