I just bought an argus 20x60... thought to be a old military spotter. do any of you know of them.

They were made by Argus Camera Company in Ann Arbor Michigan from the 1930's to the mid 1950's.
The Argus Super Grade Spotting Scope. The Argus Camera Company is well known for its camera which they have produced since the 1930’s, but they also produced a limited number of spotting scopes.

I had one for a while . They made optics for the military in WW-II , such as aiming devices for tanks . I was told that the Argus spotting scope was used by the military in WW-II . The company was later acquired by a government contractor , and produced the M-49 spotting scope , which it resembles .

Just came into one of these. Interesting point is that the only information I could find led back here. I'm going to restore it to the M49 Spotter that I used as a Marine. Saw one on Ebay for $80 if anyone else is interested.
