I think you posted in the wrong section...
Right now Arken has a 25% off your entire order coupon code for donating $10 to a veterans charity.
I know Burris is made in the USA, and most folks will tell you to go with that, but their glass isn't anything really to write home about. While the Arken SH4 is made in China, but is a veteran owned company based out of Texas. While people will shit on the Arken because of where it's made, the scopes themselves are very impressive for the price. Don't let people bully you out of trying an Arken, if it has all the features you want. I have 3 of the SH4 6-24x50 VPR MIL scopes, and 1 of the EP5 5-25x56 VPR MIL scopes.
I really like the SH4 scopes, because I prefer the 50mm objective over the 56mm of the EP5. But the Japanese ED glass of the EP5 is better than the SH4's Chinese HD glass (HD is still pretty good glass though).
The EP5 is also made in China, but has real Japanese ED glass in it, that (IMO) is dead on-par with the Vortex Viper PST Gen2 ($1,000 scope) glass. I, and many others that day compared them side-by-side in the same conditions on the same day, and everyone thought the Arken was a really expensive scope. They had never seen or heard of one before. When I showed them the MSRP of the EP5, they all started bookmarking the website on their phones to order one. If scope weight is not an issue, for the money, you won't beat the Arken scopes.
And for the record, I still own about 15 different Vortex optics, and I own a bunch of Zeiss and even a Kahles. I'm not "brand loyal", nor am I affiliated with any company. Just trying to help folks save some money with a decent scope from a fairly new company.
Nobody is a fan that they're made in China, but it is what it is. When someone makes a scope identical to it, with the same features, that is 100% Made in USA, for the same price, then I'll start buying those. You look around your house and car, and 90% of the shit in it is made in China anyway. It's beyond hypocritical to talk shit about a scope company that makes their optics in China to save money and pass the savings on to their customers, while typing said response on a phone or computer made entirely in China from Chinese parts. Just how I see things.
