Looking at the two aforementioned scopes. I own a burris xtr currently and love it but the Arken scope looks decent especially for the money. However burris offers leo discount so I would get some money off it. What y’all think? It will be going on my 375 ruger.

I think you posted in the wrong section...

Right now Arken has a 25% off your entire order coupon code for donating $10 to a veterans charity.

I know Burris is made in the USA, and most folks will tell you to go with that, but their glass isn't anything really to write home about. While the Arken SH4 is made in China, but is a veteran owned company based out of Texas. While people will shit on the Arken because of where it's made, the scopes themselves are very impressive for the price. Don't let people bully you out of trying an Arken, if it has all the features you want. I have 3 of the SH4 6-24x50 VPR MIL scopes, and 1 of the EP5 5-25x56 VPR MIL scopes.

I really like the SH4 scopes, because I prefer the 50mm objective over the 56mm of the EP5. But the Japanese ED glass of the EP5 is better than the SH4's Chinese HD glass (HD is still pretty good glass though).

The EP5 is also made in China, but has real Japanese ED glass in it, that (IMO) is dead on-par with the Vortex Viper PST Gen2 ($1,000 scope) glass. I, and many others that day compared them side-by-side in the same conditions on the same day, and everyone thought the Arken was a really expensive scope. They had never seen or heard of one before. When I showed them the MSRP of the EP5, they all started bookmarking the website on their phones to order one. If scope weight is not an issue, for the money, you won't beat the Arken scopes.

And for the record, I still own about 15 different Vortex optics, and I own a bunch of Zeiss and even a Kahles. I'm not "brand loyal", nor am I affiliated with any company. Just trying to help folks save some money with a decent scope from a fairly new company.

Nobody is a fan that they're made in China, but it is what it is. When someone makes a scope identical to it, with the same features, that is 100% Made in USA, for the same price, then I'll start buying those. You look around your house and car, and 90% of the shit in it is made in China anyway. It's beyond hypocritical to talk shit about a scope company that makes their optics in China to save money and pass the savings on to their customers, while typing said response on a phone or computer made entirely in China from Chinese parts. Just how I see things.

Hands down, Burris.
And then on Sunday, Burris again.

Monday morning, call each one on the phone for a random product sales or support question.
Report back on who answers the phone.
Every time I've ever sent Arken an email, they responded back...Even once at 9 or 10pm in the evening. I even had an issue another time, and the owner himself texted me directly while elk hunting in the mountains to try to help, we got it situated beforehand, but that was still pretty impressive. I'm a nobody, and they did that to help me in a non-emergency situation? I'd call that some pretty damn good CS. 🤷🏼

It’s a weird question because they are quite different scopes especially for a 375 Ruger. What’s your planned range and application?

I’d probably go for a XTR II 3-15 on a hunting build before a Arken 4-16 or 6-24

I have been using a XTR II for over a year on my FTR rifle It's the FFP version ( didn't know that there was a SFP) Good resolution. Easy to read the mirage. Can get a bit dark over 35x. Tracking - spot on. I would have another. The PST ii looks like it's going to be a run out item soon - but a lower powered scope. Your call.
