OK, I like to put together my own ARs and have built many AR15s. I have assembled most parts to build an Armalite AR10 upper, except bbl, bbl extention and bolt/carrier ( Yeah I know the SR25 pattern is a better system but I have two legally registered Armalites already)

Been looking for bbls. Looking for 18-20" good quality bbl.

Who knows where I can get a fair priced bbl with bolt already fitted to it?

Goal is under 1moa

Re: Armalite Pattern AR10 bbls

I'll second the recommendation on the Rainier Arms Ultramatch barrels. They are first rate all around. Made from Match-grade Shilen blanks to Rainier's specs, 1:10 twist to accommodate the heavy pills, ready to install on your upper. I went with one of their 16" tubes for a recent carbine build I am finishing up the final touches on now and it is a great barrel for the money (<$400). These barrels have also proven to be sub-MOA performers!

In addition to the 18" that Jumper provided you above, here is a link to the 20" if you decide to go that long:

The 20"s are out right now, but Rainier expects them back in stock soon. As for the bolt/headspacing...if you buy a BCG from Rainier when you get the barrel, they will (at least they did recently) check and fit for proper headspacing before it leaves the shop. If not, I think that they only charge a small fee if you need to send them your bolt.

Re: Armalite Pattern AR10 bbls

Earlier today I saw in(Model 1's catlog),that they are carrying Kreiger AR10 barrels(1in10twist) and AR10 bolt carrier assemblies. The barrels run around $800.00 threaded and bolt carrier assembly around $250.00. Just a heads up.

I was at Rainier Arms' store this week and saw a discounted 18 inch barrel for $185. I think it was black hole or something like that. I only breifly looked at it, but I thought it was AR10. Worth giving them a call.

That was probably one of their "Select" barrels which is not the same as the "Ultra Match" barrel. The select barrels are DPMS pattern only (at this time anyways), they are NOT Shilen blanks but an undisclosed mfg, twists are only 1:11 instead of 1:10; the Select barrels are a 3-groove polygonal rifling whereas the Ultramatch barrels are a 6-groove button rifled and air-gauged barrel. Those are some of the basic differences, but the most important being that Rainier ONLY offers their Select 308 barrels for the DPMS platform and NOT Armalite at this time. They have stated that depending on how interest goes, they may offer Armalite pattern barrels in the future.

Oh I understand completely...I just wanted to provide the OP with a full description since this won't work for his needs and since others might be interested in picking up something if they don't want/need a match barrel. They are not "bad" barrels by any stretch (quite the opposite actually)...just not quite up to the level of what the Ultra Match units are. Either way...you can't argue with the price tag of the "Select" barrels...particularly if you are considering a budget build. For "regular" priced units they only run $250-275 which is a freakin' STEAL for a drop-in .308 AR/DPMS-compatible barrel.

Check with Bartlein Barrels. They supply GAP with the barrels for the GAP10. They are always accurate and reliable.

Re: Armalite Pattern AR10 bbls

+1 on Bartlein barrels. You may want to take a look at Lothar Walther as well. Some AR10T's were made with LW barrels. I know they typically have some ready to go.

It makes me wonder why it costs so much- the base price for drop-in AR10 barrels is 400 on their website.

Re: Armalite Pattern AR10 bbls

Armalite NM Barrel 1/10 twist off their site is 500.00 and a AR10 Bolt Carrier Group Assy is 275.00, but you can get a complete NM upper with bolt for 1049.00 HUMMMMMM?

That is for a unchambered barrel. 500 is the base price once you have it chambered
