So I have an armalite supersass in 308 that just won’t shoot under moa reliably for 5 shots. Handloads or fgmm. Would a bartlien by Craddock help or is that just how that rifles gonna shoot no matter the barrel?

How many rounds through it ? .. and is this you first Large Frame AR ?

They are tougher to shoot well. ( no offense intended at all. )

And a better barrel would most likely improve precision.

Do you know anyone with a bore scope ?

Sometimes there are visible flaws inside the bore.

Everything snug ? scope screws.. barrel nut ... muzzle device ?.. etc

Yea everything torqued to spec. Larue mount nxs 3-15

Which Larue mount ?
I ask, because the "Vertical Ring" ones MUST have the bottom screws torqued first and snugged with about 30 in/lbs equally , then the top ones. Mark LaRue confirmed this at one point in time.

Failure to do so can create "loose scope" issues.

I had a super sass years ago for about 6 months. It was consistently a 1.25-1.5 minute gun at 100 with myself and other, better shooters. I sold it to buy an LMT MWS.

I did the same thing but with a knights sr25 as Nn8734 did with his armalite sass. Couldn't get the thing to function reliably and it wouldn't shoot under a minute to save its life. I sold it a d bought a South American lmt mws and I'm in love. It's been shooting. 68-.80 all day. If you feel unhappy with the performance sell it and a look at lmt, there are great deals on them. ?

I would rather just get a better barrel for it if that would solve the problem but I don’t know if the barrel is the problem. I don’t feel like it’s me I have other rifles I can consistently shoot half moa with and sometimes a lot less.

Well mark, I'm not sure how far you're looking at strectching your rifle out to. But, if you're looking to go 1000+ the mws is capable of swapping barrels back and forth from 308, 260, and 6.5 creedmore. I've been waiting for a 6.5 barrel to pop up for 1500 yrd range days. Plus the lmt just feels extremely sturdy and the fit/ finish is top notch.

I would like the rifle to be capable of 1000 yds although I’ve never shot that far or have anywhere to shoot that far

I’m also strongly considering a MLOK MWS in 6.5. While I love my SR25 (being converted to a K1) the LMT is the best value hands down for the money. Most shoot 1 MOA or less without trying with factory match ammo (hand loads shrink this even further). The newest LMTs also don’t have the back pressure issues that the first gen was known for so most well made cans should play nice with it.

Man, I have never seen one not shoot. I'm not doubting you but I never seen one of those not capable of great accuracy. I shot a barrel out recently and I acquired another one and it's not as accurate as my first but it's still under 1MOA. I have two other friends that have them and theirs are lasers too. Maybe their quality as slipped....

Are you shooting suppressed ?

What muzzle device ?

Adj. GB ?

Reasonably tight fit between the upper and lower ?

Tell us a little more about the rifle.
Not suppressed yet it has surefire socom break, switchblock gas block decent fit between upper and lower geiselle trigger heavy buffer from heavybuffer.com

I wondered about their quality myself after the original barrel being chambered with a worn reamer
