Anybody have any experience with rifles built by Arnold Arms? Specifically a model called the MK-1 Neutralizer. I saw one recently in .308 built on a Rem 700 action. It seemed very well built using quality components such as a McMillan stock, match grade barrel, very nicely bedded etc....

I've never heard of this company before and understand the are out of business. Does anybody have any experience with these rifles?

calls the guys at benchmark barrels and ask about them, they used to be in the same town and ron or jerry can tell you all about them. I try to refrain from negative comments but needless to say I haven't heard anything good.

Scott,

Thanks for the hook. I called and spoke to Jerry. He was quite helpful and spoke of some poor business practices but had nothing negative to say about the rifles that were built there.

I appreciate the help.

I've seen about ten actions nice stuff but that was 15 years ago. I believe they were manufactured by the folks that eventually formed Nesika. The one's I remember were flat bottomed and had a sandwiched recoil lug that had a small lip the went under the action. Nice clean design for a switch barrel action.

Criver,

Your thinking of their Neutralizer MK-II which used an action they built called the "Apollo."

I'm trying to research their blue printed Rem 700 builds that they labeled the Neutralizer MK-I.

From what I've learned it's pretty much a straight forward Remmy build squaring everything up and using high quality components such as McMillan stocks and premium match grade barrels from various manufacturers.

I'm trying source some info on real world range and field experience with the Mark-I

Thanks, s6

I've got one in 6.5x55 and it shoots 1/4" groups at 200 yards.

How much is it?

Mine is a <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">STRIKE VIPER</span></span></span> It's built on a Winchester long action.

I just closed the deal on it last night. It's on the "left coast" so I should have it in about a week. Lets just say I bought it right, for less than 1/3 the cost of the original build. It's a Lefty R-700 build and should be a hammer! Time will tell.

Re: Arnold Arms Co. Inc. MK-1 Neutralizer?

Picked up the rifle on Saturday, gave it a good cleaning and set it up on Sunday afternoon. It is certainly a quality build showing excellent craftsmanship, fit, finish and quality components. It's a trued 700LH with an oversized lug using a 26" match grade barrel with a bore as bright as a mirror. I'm unsure of the barrel maker. It's beautifully bedded in a fully adjustable McMillan A-3. The trigger measured a touch over 3 pounds and breaks cleanly as it should. I was impressed handling it and cycling the bolt. Smooth as any trued 700 I've ever handled and better than many. Finally got it to the range Monday morning and again today. I mounted a Lupy MK-IV 6-20x50 on it, set it up with a new Harris and Pod-Loc. It took me exactly 3rds to sight in at 100yds after bore sighting.

Shot several 5 shot groups prone with a rear bag at 100, 200 and 300yds, using FGMM 168's. Not a single 5 shot group over 1/2moa! Totaled 60rds over a 2hr period on Monday. I gave the rifle a good cleaning and cased it anxious for Tuesday to arrive so I could get a good clean cold bore shot printed and documented.

Straight out of the case, prone 100yds with a FGMM 168 first CCB shot literally took the X out of the target. I followed that shot up with another round that cut the same hole. I then spun up 5.25 moa and fired a single round at a 3"x3" hanging steel target at the 300yd line. That round rang the steel about 1/2" left of dead center. I was stoked. I spun back down to my zero and fired a third round at the 100 yd target. Round 3 centered the first two just a "c-Hair" left and made a nice 1/4moa bug hole group which included the CCB shot.

I put the gun up toay after the 4 rounds as I had limited time, but suffice to say I believe I made a great purchase. I believe the gun is gonna prove to be a laser!

It seem's there are alot of mixed views about AA but I had them build a sporter in 300WM on a 700 action and it is extremly accurate and the fit and finish was very good,I think they got to big to fast for what they had to offer and finally went broke, but I have nothing but good to say about the rifle I recieved from them!

Re: Arnold Arms Co. Inc. MK-1 Neutralizer?

Arnold Arms was a fantastic company. However they wanted to be "Weatherby". They brought out their entire line of "Arnold" cartridges(like Lazzeroni). They tried to be a Weatherby on steroids. I have a friend who bought a 300 Arnold. Similar to the 30-378. I always wanted one, but never bought one. They built a fantastic rifle, but their cartridges never caught on. Tom.
