Anybody have any methods/ideas to test for completeness of powder burn prior to the bullet leaving the muzzle?

Not a real test, but you could look at what QuickLOAD tells you.

Or you could judge based upon muzzle flash?

Re: At home experiment to test powder burn

Completely non-scientific, but I'll weigh out 10gr of various powders, arrange in a neat little pile and lay a lit match on the pile - to get a feel for burn rate. I can clearly see the difference between Varget and H4350, or between H110 and Bluedot etc etc.

Yea, buy a reloading manual and follow it. Be careful!

Good luck
