What happened to her was awful and hope the animals that did that get their just desserts. That being said white Americans have been getting attacked on these islands for years. You go there and you take your chances.

I have been to the DR and I know a lot of people who have. Most of the people are friendly, yeah it is the third world and you should not be stupid, but I would feel safer in the tourist areas of the DR than in the slums of many major American cities.
