Athlon Cronus 50L-640 Thermal Scope

I'm looking at getting a nice thermal scope. Is the Athlon Cronus 50L-640 thermal a good deal at $3,500. I'm sure the top of the line Pulsar is better but it looks like this Athlon is about as good as the second best Pulsar. The only thing that looks like it isn't quite as good is the field of view for the Athlon is listed at 8.8x6.6. Any opinions?

Hunt around a bunch and see if you can find any discounts and such, I'll bet you could get it about 20% less than that.
