Rifle Scopes Athlon Cronus Windage Turret

So I’ve recently ordered an Athlon Cronus and ares ETR to try out and I prefer the Cronus, except for the non locking windage turret.

has anyone found a way to “lock” the windage turret on their Cronus or any other scope with non locking windage?

Just run some electrical tape over/around it or insert some gaskets to make it harder to turn is what I’ve read from searching.

Just wanted to give an update if anyone else comes across the same worry/issue.

I found a pack of rubber hose washers at my local hardware store and put one inside the top of my turret cover. It tightened it up by about 50% but is still able to be adjusted. I will try this out in the field initially and see if I have any issues. If I do, I’ll add tape of some sort to tighten it up even more.

Pretty cool. I have been bugging Athlon for years to make a Cronus with locking or capped wind knob, after accidentally rolling mine on barricades at a few matches. Or at least a left-side wind know so you can see it easier? Hopefully there's a Gen-II in the works for 2021. #fingerscrossed

i have heard from a few people that the Gen 2 will be out in January and will feature new turrets along with some other changes.

I suspected as much. With the release of the UHD version, which only changed glass quality, I figured there was something else on the horizon to be released at SHOT...though I just heard SHOT has been cancelled.
