Rifle Scopes Athlon Midas BTR gen II reviews?

I'm bumping this since the scope has been in the wild for a few months. Anyone try one yet? I have a Golden Eagle on a .22 but I'm thinking of doing some scope swapping and the Midas II might work on that rifle.

I would tend to stay away from a $700 scope that has a 27x high end. At that price point I would lean toward something with less than 15-18x on the top end. Maybe Athlon can prove me wrong with this one. I am curious as well.

I have 2 Midas TACs that are still very clear at 24 power, great scopes for the money

The BTR Gen 2 is essentially the same scope with a slightly different magnification range and also illumination...so maybe the illumination would make any shortcomings in the glass more apparent, I’m not sure

I already have a 6-24 TAC on another rifle so I have a good idea of the quality of the Athlon HD glass. It doesn't resolve as well as the GE at 24x @100yds, obviously, but it's not a huge difference either. Argos to TAC is a much more noticeable jump in quality, for my eyes at least. My main concern is ability to hold POA exactly. I also need zero reticle drift through the power ranges, so that was why I was wanting to see if there were any real world experiences.

Bump for more experience with this scope. I've regrettably sold the Golden Eagle because I want to do more than shooting off the bench, but I also have a very accurate .22 rifle that is shooting in the .3's and better consistently and I need something that will hold POA like a rock for group testing, but I want a ranging reticle and somewhat lower for other purposes.

The Athlon floating dot is already my favorite reticle and it's available in the Midas 2. I keep looking for a replacement for the GE and I'm all over the map, from Razor II to Meopta 5-30 and everything in between. If the Midas tracks and holds POA reliably then the glass is secondary, since I will never shoot over 200yds with this rifle. I thought about a Athlon ETR but I'm hesitant to pay that much only to have Athlon dump them for half price whenever the ETR2 gets released.
