We had a run of parts that the metal finishers used a different type of metal prep on, the surface became "textured" what I'll call "orange peel". Problem is, to me, it looks like metal injection molded (MIM) parts, which it is not. MIM is a process often used for complex parts difficult/impossible to machine as well cost savings on machinable parts. All our parts, including these are machined from bar stock material. So instead of making the finishers eat the cost of the parts, we've built them and are selling them as blemished and are marked with our blemished logo. All "blemished" units are 100% functional. They simply did not meet our quality control standards. These cosmetic blemishes will vary between each unit.
