Just wondering everyone’s thought on this thermal for someone’s first thermal. Would it hold up on a 6.5 PRC/Saum? I know it will be fine on my 6.8 SPC and 308 gas guns.

The original Thors from 5 years ago were decent ... I know several hunters that have used them and like them. And I have an ODIN from that era that I still use and like. But the "Thor HD's" ATN started with 3 years ago? Are not hunting capable units IMHO. I had one briefly and it wasn't "done". On "white hot" there was no image. That was one of several problems. I called ATN several times and eventually they told me to send it back. There's a detailed review of it in my "practicing" thread.

I've also had an ATN PS-22, which I could never get collimated sufficiently to use it as a clipon, dispite sending it to ATN and paying them to re-collimate it. Perhaps they didnt' have a collimating table :) So I haven't been impressed with ATN support, which has uniquely been "hostile" on occasion.

So, I know of zero hunters using the Thor HDs ... and I had one myself ... and I cannot recommend them for anything other than trying to sell them if you happen to get one involuntarily.

If you want a low cost thermal for hunting, look at the Apex line of the Pulsars ... they're the bottom of the bucket for hunting usable thermals.

They will stand up to .375H&H

Thanks for the info man. I’m totally new to all this thermal equipment. What really got me thinking of investing in a thermal scope is a small tract of land I bought back in the summer recently had hogs come through. I had my trail cam out from June till beginning of October, not the first picture or sign of a hog. Then about a week and a half ago I’m deer hunting down there and four hogs show up. I killed every one of them. I like that the one you recommend will handle up to a .375 H&H.
