Hey guys have a friend wanting to add a front sight onto a trapdoor springfield. Serial number search shows it was made about 1875 but it is in bad shape, lots of rust etc. The gun is being stripped for a reblue job in the future and he wants a new sight added. He is not super concerned about cosmetics but Im not real comfortable getting the barrel cherry red for a good joint.
Would something like loctite 620 or black max adhesive be a better choice?
