The Austin PD has pretty much thrown in the towel, they now advise if your robbed on the street to just call the non emergency number and file a report. Considering the major crime resolution percentage is astoundingly low I’m guessing the solved rates on robberies and burglaries is probably close to nothing. This will eventually get people killed, as at least a few muggers can probably read and the Austin PD just called open season on pretty much anyone in the street.

This same department would come in sirens and guns a blazin towards anyone who protects their own.

The job of the police is to protect government from the people while simultaneously forcing using violence govnt’s rules, regulations, permits, taxes, laws, and agenda onto those same people. Too many people can’t see this for what it is. People seem to love their chains and the gun to their head as long as its disguised as public safety. People say they believe in god given “rights” but they don’t. They believe in government permission above all else.

Back the blue and vote red. That will do it says no one with a lick of sense. 😂

Did the Austin PD also go after non-masking business pretty hard also?

What these gentle people from Austin, that vote for defunding Police and electing liberal DA’s can’t wrap their heads around are simple facts. Homeless camps are breeding grounds for crime in the community. no big deal when in the past three months they killed off members of their own kind. What happens while they are ransacking your home, because they need to support themselves other than working a regular type job and find grandma or the kid stayed home from school this day? cops can always get a vagrant off the street but if the DA is just releasing them, why bother until it’s a felony arrest. Why is it we can spend billions on Ukraine and asylum-invaders,but there’s no money to separate street people into behavioral health treatment programs or jail.

Austin has always been the "special" child of Texas. They also wanted to kick out the state police who were helping with the overload. It takes a special kind of stupid to be Austin.

I'll start the cop wars again, but this is a perfect example of what hating on the cops gives you.

Also note, they took time to charge the pizza/uber driver (I forget) who dropped a BLM protestor who leveled an AK at him.

As I've said before, Hitler didn't change the cops, he simply changed the laws.

No matter how much you want to, "Back the Blue", they'll always start rounding up Jews when asked by those in power.

There is no such thing as a cop that protects people from those in power. If socialism requires that you suffer they'll let you suffer as long as they are the ones in charge.

Don't call 911 if you're robbed.
Don't call 911 if your shit gets stolen.
Yore welcome.

Yes that’s my biggest issue, if the cops don’t respond and just write a report than so be it, then just let citizens defend themselves as they have a God given right to do, but they are catching both edges of the sword, choices currently in Austin are get robbed and hope all they take is your wallet and keys, or light the disadvantaged individual up like a Christmas tree and get 25 years as in Daniel Perry.

Anyone here knows I am cop-friendly and cop-adjacent. I did security work and one of my bosses was a sheriff. In fact, I carried one of his guns. S&W Model 19 K frame .357 Magnum with 125 grain hollow point .38 ammo.

I even applied to be a police officer and was doing quite well in the process and realized I did not want that for a career.

That being said, if the cops are not going to respond, the people will. And, in so doing, are going to have to get creative in their solutions. First, you have to stop the criminal. Second, you have to do something with the criminal once you stop him.

Of course, it would not be easy. So, either the people do something or lay down and die.

That's why its important to go after the prosecutors, District Attorneys, and City Government who make the laws. They should enjoy at least as much scrutiny as cops. None of them wear body cams, and all their backroom deals aren't on tape.

I think the body cams and video have been helpful in reforming bad behavior as its not "all cops are bad" or "all cops are good". What we really need is a hard look at the government that directs police priorities, because the rot there is worse than any police dept.

And I'll say this: Austin doesn't need more police, it needs more GOOD police and a severe bleach cleanse at the city level (which won't happen as the Californtards will vote their shithole ways as logic doesn't matter to them, and OG Austin people think just like them).

It also illustrate a fundamental conundrum of govt, out where i live, we are terribly over-policed. Rural, Small-town, low crime and most of what cops do is speeding tickets. In metro areas, they are under siege as we lose the war on drugs and Bidenomics crushes the lower (and middle class). Big cities need help, small cities need relief. Where you live is a huge factor and most people assume "Everywhere is like here".

It isn't

And at least in TX you can carry a gun...(for now)

“I was being robbed, but they didn’t get anything... so there’s no use filing a report on it.
Just charge the dead thugs you found for loitering or something.”
See, a guy with a backhoe could make a decent living scooping up bags of rotting meat off the street.

@wade2big for president. :unsure: 🙃:eek:

Sounds like the perfect punishment for him. Damn it, I wished I had thought of that.

On the bright side, he could not be worse than the non compos mentis that is in there now. And I don't mean Wade is stupid or out of it. Just saying that even a blind hog finding an acorn could be better.

Guys like this sniveling scumbag have fucked up all the places that were once great including my home state of Washington, it was never like it is now until the socialist California cunts started moving here, started more than 40 years ago I remember when I was young seeing cal plates and screaming at them to go the fuck home and don't come back, but no here we are. They have done the same thing to Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Texas, and its coming to your home too. I wish all these scumbags would do what this idiot did and leave, still to this day when I see a cal plate I think go the fuck home. Sorry for the rant and I know not all California folks are like this scumbag but a lot are and they are the ones screwing it up for everyone. E

I will only add this to the little discussion.

There is a difference between robbery and burglary, a fairly big difference. 911 is for emergencies. Now there is a lot of gray around this. You go home, open your garage door from inside your car, walk in the house, and find it in a shambles. Most people don't leave and call 911. Most people will keep looking around, finally find the kicked in back door and make a call. Are you in the house is a pretty common question, followed by are the bad people still there. Well no, because you know that as you just walked all through the house. That is one thing. If you say, I opened the door found the house trashed and I am not going in there they could be still there. That is different.

At the point of a robbery they will likely not even send out a uniform, generally a det. Get your info, try to find out what they took, there is a reason so many power tools sell on facebook marketplace. No one keeps SN#'s of this stuff. You got nothing and you go back and do your report and put a pin on the map basically, but not it is a computer map.

Females are usually really wigged out, seems like 90% of them like to go through the girls underwear before they leave. I can really understand the shaken up, but there is not much you can do at this point past getting a statement.

And while I am on this kick. Make yourself a list of your "big" stuff. Power tools as well as gunz. If you have old guns like pre 68 22's and such remove the butt plate take some tape and put info in there. You can do this for other things along these lines. Power tools are a biggie as are things like "earth moving" equipment and 4 wheelers. Could be our very rural area but these are pretty often stolen. Also if you are looking for something and a guy comes up to you in Home Depot and says, I was listening to what you are saying, I am going through a pretty bad divorce and want to unload my mini excavator look at it with caution. Know what this stuff costs, and goes for before you go well that sounds like a good deal yea I will take it.

Nobody is taking about residential burglaries you dolt.

The issue here is robbery.

Personally I'm just fine keeping the cops completely out of both. I'd just rather deal with the robber or burglar my own way.

Like a cancer that is spreading and metastasizing.

When you come home and find that stuff is stolen or messed up, that is evidence of a burglary. So, yeah, maybe call the detective.

But the article was about being robbed, such as at an ATM. They say call 311 instead of 911.

Well, if they don't have enough patrol officers to come to you and maybe even catch the criminal, how are they going to have enough detectives to research the crime?

That is the problem. Again, I believe in having the police around. The commies in the city government disagree. They prefer to leave others in cess pools while they live behind gated communities with armed guards.

If the police are not coming around, then the citizens will do something. Nor am I supporting vigilantism. But it happens. To quote the old biker saying - ass, gas, or grass, no one rides for free. Point being, someone, somewhere, will do something about the violent crimes.

Well fuck nut not everyone knows the difference.

Well this city in TX has a rather unique fix . 249 person population and 50 officers . They hired criminals to police the population- some high lights a bugler - a stalker and some one that lies to beat handcuffed suspects. Half those on the force have been fired from other departments and or convicted of crimes . So to get them off the streets and away from a life of crime they put them on the city payroll
But the real prize is the current “chief” of this tribe . When hired to his position in Coffee Texas he had warrants out on him in Florida for DUI and failure to appear in court .

But it’s not as bad as it seems - having 50 officers to police 249 residents the town grosses a million dollars a year just in fines - and the criminals /vigilance committee don’t need to steal as much because with ticket revenue and tax dollars they each are paid between 80 and $100,000 a year before over time .

So some will claim the above true verifiable story is cop hate - and some may see it as a viable option . I would choose a third way 8-10 highly trained extremely professional competent officers without a criminal record . And to go along with the heavy work load and high level of trust placed upon them they in return should be effective efficient, transparent and accountable.

I’m just going to add that if you have been robbed and can make a call, you are likely no longer in an emergent situation. If, however, you have been mugged and are using one hand to put pressure on a stab wound while using the other to make a call, you ARE in an emergent situation. One is a 311 call. The other is a 911 call.

In 2006 I was burglarized while living in Austin. A gun and computer along with some other property was stolen. From witnesses, I was able to locate the burglars, two high school age, lout teenager neighbors. I got one to confess but he said the property was gone, handed off to other gang members.

I called APD and told them to come running, I'd caught the burglars. After five calls, they finally sent a supervisor four hours later and the bull dyke told me they weren't going to arrest or question anyone as the burglars were minors, and I had better not harrass them otherwise I'd be the one going to jail.

This was all within earshot of one of the burglars and his mother, who then turned around and went inside.

Detectives worked the case and finally got my gun and property back reeking of meth.

So happy out come - you were protected and served to the max- even before the defund and post covid collapse! 😄

So now you know that gang members can steal firearms with impunity as long as they are minors - or vibrant or turning their lives around. So please don’t call 911 again 🤣

Maybe in your circles. People here do.
Ask any "normal" person on the street to tell you the difference. Hell they have no idea what a map is. It is not shocking to find people that do not know the difference.

Even when they aren't minors - they get to plea bargain their crimes down to a basic stern lecture, while the "victim" has destroyed or lost property.

I also know that if you call a hospital or a doctor's office, part of the greeting is that if this is an emergency, hang up and call 911.

So, you, the caller, have to decide it's an emergency. Has the Austin PD put out a guideline for what is an emergency? And have dispatchers and first responders lined up other jobs to go to when the city goes bankrupt from lawsuits?

why would anyone call 911 , I mean the 45 min wait seems like you would be dead in that amount of time .kill the crook , make yourself and home safe have a drink then call the cops .
