AW Cut Impact

Hey guys is anyone running AW mags in an impact? From what i've read 2 lug actions dont feed well from AW mags as they were designed for the 3 lug actions. Everyone seems to rave about the impact actions and how good they are so i was wanting the best of both worlds (smooth action and aw magazines).

Anyone had any issues? What bottom metal is everyone using?

I run AW mags in my two lug lone Peak and defiance with Zero issues. I don’t know why an Impact cut for AW mags would be any different.

I am using Hawkins bottom metal in Foundation stocks. I use the long action latch in the short action DBM. The long action latch is 0.030” longer and places the mag AW mag at the correct height to feed 100% in our rifles. With the standard short action latch feeding was not always 100%. Hope that helps.

Yes. I do.

mine is in a MPA chassis so no bottom metal. I needed an adjustable mag catch on the chassis (a MUST HAVE in my opinion). I have the 6mm HRD Gear mag spacer kits, which I had to file slightly on the front corners to get the follower to ride up to the feed ramps to load the last round. It was marginally finicky but I think it’s reliable at this point.
