I noticed that EuroOptic has a new listing here:

    http://www.eurooptic.com/26547BL-AI-Accuracy-International-Bolt-A.aspx

It looks like the entire bolt assembly for the 308. Does anyone know if this is for the AXMC to prevent the hassle of changing out the shroud or if this is specifically for the small action to remedy the small/large firing pin fiasco( And won't fit into the magnum AXMC)?

    Anyone know?

Mile High has a listing for the small diameter firing pin but it is not in stock. In that ad they reference the same PN that EuroOptic does and state that it is a complete bolt body for use with the small firing pin and it is designed for the AX and AT series of actions. It does not offer a similar product for the AXMC

    $785...damn

Got it. So it looks like its for a SMALL action AX. I wonder why they make the shrouds so hard to get and elusive.

Everything from AI is hard and elusive...Patiently waited for them to finally release the AT in LH...guaranteed that this new bolt assembly will not be offered in LH for ages or maybe ever.

Time out! What firing pin fiasco?

There is no fiasco. People started shooting hot loads in 6/6.5mm calibers and piercing primers. Especially when using small primer cartridges.

AI designed the rifles for 7.62 NATO with large mil-spec primers. Shoot 308 and you won't have a problem with the LFP. Shoot other calibers and you may need to back your firing pin off a couple of turns or have your LFP bolt bushed to avoid piercing primers.
