anyone ever heard of this scope? I just got it in a trade and cannot find anything on it. it has a 50mm objective and 30mm tube. It has an unusual dual adjustable reticle set up. Both operate independent, so each has there own windage/ele knobs all are in 1/2MOA. i will post pics up shortly. Thanks, Justin

Re: B. Nickel Marburg/L 7-12X E/D

It's a scope made for "running boar", an old olympic event. "Running boar" is shot at 50m with .22LR.

The scope paralax is set at 50m.

The event is very specialized. The boar passes a 10m opening@50m in 5sec in "slow runs" and 2.5sec in "fast runs". There are two events. "Normal programme" is one series of 30 shots "slow runs" and one series of 30 shots "fast runs". "Mixed programme" is 20 + 20 shots "fast" and "slow" mixed together. The shooter do not know if it's a slow or a fast pig appering. The shooter has to start with the rifle at the hip and cannot lift befor the boar appeares. The X ring is a about 2.5". Shooting fast runs require a rifle that fits like a shotgun. Leade at fast runs is about 6 mils.

The individual adjustable posts in the scope makes it possible to use the optimum aiming point on the boar. Most shooter use the "front" post at slow runs and aim between the "nose" and the "tooth". Scope centerline is zeroed in the mount and leade is app 3 mils in slow runs. If the pig is going fast the shooter use the "rear" post at the same aimingpoint. Leade is then app 6 mils. Confusing? :)

Premier Reticles made their own version of running boar scopes. These scopes had a regular target dot for zeroing the scope and two individual adjustable lead dots. Both dotd had theit own windage and elevation knob.

Your scope is worth about $1000 in Europe.

The Olympics dropped this as an event quite a while back. It was last called running target and shot with air rifle.

Running deer and running game target, 100- and 50-meter versions of this sport, were part of the Olympics at different times between 1900-88. The 10-meter event replaced running game target on the Olympic program in 1992.

2004 was the last Olympics that shot Running Target.
